Crazy day...

Wow what a day... It's days like this that I am incredibly glad that I have a savior in Jesus! For without him, life can sometimes be just a bit too much to handle on your own. The day started like any normal day, but a quick call to the doctor's office had us admitting Christina into the hospital around 1pm. She's having regular contractions now and her cervix is thinning daily. She'll be on observation throughout the night to see if the contraction slow down with the IV fluids. This happened right after getting a phone call from Jonathan's school. Jonathan's been battling a bad cough that we thought was from his allergies. We checked him out from school around 12pm and let him relax at home with grandmom while we went to  Hospital, but around 4pm, Christina sent me home to check up on Jonathan. When I got home I heard a funny wheezing sound and a really fast heartbeat so I decided to take him to the urgent care to check it out. Within seconds of registering, the nurse took one look at him and told us come in immediately. The doctor on staff saw him within the minute and had him on a breathing treatment and oxygen. A few minutes later, we were rushed into an ambulance and on our way to the hospital. So within a few hours, I had both Christina and Jonathan admitted to two separate hospitals!!! Jonathan being the crazy boy that he is, absolutely loved the ambulance ride. He thought it was the coolest thing to be riding an ambulance..though this was probably the scariest ride ever for me as a father! Jonathan was having severe respiratory issues caused by a bad case of pneumonia and required immediate attention. Fortunately the breathing treatments, IV fluid, and antibiotics were enough to stabilize him. It's amazing how much strength and peace our little man has. He stayed calm throughout the night and never once complained about anything they did to him.  He truly is one amazing boy! I guess having gone through open heart surgery makes this a simple exercise, but it sure never gets any easier for the parents! I thank God that I was able to take him to the urgent care in time. I thank God that he was seen so quickly at the urgent care. I thank God that he gave peace to Jonathan during a rough day. I thank God that Christina is doing well at the hospital. I thank God that Jonathan is sleeping at home instead of sleeping at the hospital. I thank God that I've been able to stay calm for Christina and Jonathan! You never see God at work more than when you are at your lowest point, for that is when God shows you how weak you are, but how strong and mighty He truly is.
