After a year of wondering, waiting, and wishing, we finally got to hold our beloved HannahKate for the very first time today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The pictures of her that we received in the past does absolutely no justice to how incredibly beautiful she is (based on our non biased opinion of course...). She was very hesitant at first glance but after a few minutes of playing with some toys nearby, she warmed up to us and let us hold her. We even got her to laugh a bit in the short time we were given. She didn't cry and seemed at ease being around us which was a huge blessing from God. She's still very attached to her foster mom, but we're very encouraged with the way she enjoyed our presence. She's already walking around and has been since she was only 8months old!
We were really anxious about this meeting, but as always, God is faithful and provided for our every need. Everything went really well and the best part is that the SWS social worker understood our wish to pick up HannahKate early since our family was nearby and agreed to let us pick her up this Friday at 3pm!!! That means Song's parents and family will get a few extra days to spend with our newest addition to our family! What a blessing! We were so excited about the news that saying goodbye to our daughter wasn't nearly as painful as we had expected. We're less than 3 days away from taking her home with us. WOW! Can you believe it?
After our wonderful visit, we spent the next few hours visiting more of Song's family and had a very delicious Korean Seafood buffet lunch (and really dinner since it was enough to keep us full through the day). Jonathan had a blast finding a small playground area in the restaurant and spent the majority of the time playing with new Korean friends he met. After a restful drive back home, Jonathan spent another hour playing at the playground in HomePlus, running around the ball pits and having a blast. He's really enjoyed playing in a playground environment and was having a ball even with kids that couldn't speak a bit of english.
Enjoy the pictures!
Did you know that Jonathan loves cakes?
I can't tell you how happy I am for you! I can't wait to hold her myself and I'm totally lifting these pics off of your blog...lol!
ReplyDeleteLove ya!
What an amazing day you will NEVER forget! What a blessing!!!
ReplyDeleteThis verse comes to my mind, I Samuel 1:27, "I prayed for this child and the Lord has granted me what I asked of Him."
We serve an awesome GOD!!!
