The Wait is Almost Over....

We just received a call from our social worker Kathy concerning our current status. All processing has been completed on the Korean side so we are just waiting on the Atlanta CIS office to approve our I-600 application. Please pray that the office starts working faster! Several families with FCA have already gone to pick up their child who were given their referrals at the same time as us (how depressing is that to hear?). Kathy is at her wits end having to deal with the Atlanta CIS office being so slow and unresponsive. All other offices have processed the applications within 2-3 weeks, except for the Atlanta office (going on week 6).

Here's a rundown of the remaining milestones before we get travel approval.

  • I-600 Application gets approved (Please pray for this to be ASAP! 1-6 weeks)
  • National Visa Center (NVC) get notification of the I-600 approval.
  • NVC processes the Visa for HannahKate and sends a fax or email to Korean Embassy (Possibly 1-2 weeks).
  • Korean Embassy informs SWS of approval (1-7 days).
  • SWS takes HannahKate to Embassy to complete visa processing. (1-2 day)
  • SWS informs FCA, who calls us to book our tickets to travel!!!
So the best case is we'll travel by the end of the month. The worst case is ... you can do the math....but I'd rather not think about that.

  2. We are continually praying for you, friend! Rest knowing that God knows the exact time you are to go get your beautiful daughter, no sooner, no later - in His PERFECT timing! Today is one day closer than it was yesterday! (Although I know it can't be soon enough!)
